What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strategic Sourcing Specialist - Purchasing, Remote position at Dartmouth Health?
Responsible for reviewing customer requirements; conducting market analysis; management of Solicitation Documents and negotiations with suppliers. Identifies potential vendors and sourcing suppliers, services and equipment with the optimal value (cost and quality). Advises business and clinical leadership in the review, development and approval of tactical contract terms and conditions. Maintains good relationships and negotiates with suppliers as well as reviews supplier performance and identifies opportunities for improvement.
Responsibilities
- Maintains contracts and applicable contract databases and supplier exchanges.
- Researches new suppliers and negotiations to obtain the best possible overall value.
- Applies price benchmarking tools to validate if acquisition prices and life cycle costs are market competitive.
- Works with stakeholders in Supply Chain to ensure product utilization is aligned with industry best practice.
- Works with service line teams, finance / internal stakeholders and suppliers to manage budgets.
- Manages timelines of projects with suppliers.
- Manages new supplier setups including credentialing, on-boarding and contract administration processes.
- Assists with management of membership changes associated with D-HH or contractual relationships with organizations strategically linked to Dartmouth-Hitchcock such as the contract participants of the New England Alliance for Health, LLC (“NEAH”) or members of the New England Pharmacy Collaborative (“NEPC”). This will include communication with supply chain partners and access of appropriate contract prices to eligible healthcare providers.
- Ensures contracting and procurement standards are maintained. Understands deliverables, gates and checkpoints using D-H’s established sourcing process.
- Follows established sourcing and contracting processes.
- Works with team to analyze, interpret and present data in a meaningful way.
- Works with customers and top 100 suppliers to monitor supplier performance and contract guarantees, including payment of financial incentives and defining performance metrics.
- Works with Purchasing to ensure order management activities and financial transactions are processed in a timely manner, maximizing the use of cost effective transaction technologies (e.g. electronic commerce).
- Must demonstrate solid ability to work with analysts, interpret complex data and build financial models (i.e. ROI, supplier scorecards, savings reports and vendor selection).
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor???s degree in Business, Logistics or Management preferred.
- Three (3) years of supply chain experience in sourcing, purchasing, financial analysis or supply chain.
- Experience in a large organization with exposure in advanced sourcing strategies.
- Three (3) years of experience in a role requiring effective communication and customer service skills.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and lead initiatives that require quick turnaround and quality output.
- Attention to detail, sound decision making and negotiation skills.
- Prior experience working in healthcare supply chain procurement or sourcing preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment while handling multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong personal computing skills, knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with concepts and procedures relating to strategic sourcing and contract management.
- Ability to travel between D-H locations as well as to customer and supplier sites as required.
- Ability to achieve Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) desired.
