$7,000 Sign-On/Retention Bonus*
The Mental Health Therapist provides individual, group, and family therapy utilizing a variety of treatment modalities for the adolescent population. They provide education/information to patients and families and modify treatments as necessary in response to patient progress.
We are offering a $7000 sign-on/retention bonus for this position. *The bonus is available for external hires only, and certain conditions apply.
This is a full-time, 40-hour/week day-shift position working Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30pm pm with rotating weekends.
Responsibilities
Provide age-appropriate evidence-based education/materials to patients and families as needed.
Document in the patient’s chart in response to patient progress and group participation.
Develop and presents age-appropriate therapeutic modules (group curriculum), assessment, treatment, and care of psychiatric
Works collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to develop patient specific plan of care when individualized treatment is required.
Develop group therapeutic treatment modules using evidence-based best practices that target the needs of the patients and changing milieu mix.
Develops and maintains a robust group treatment schedule, including therapeutic and recreational groups, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., ensuring weekends and evening hours are included, or as directed by unit leadership.
In partnership with the Occupational Therapy team, maintain a flexible schedule to ensure groups are covered on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Provides brief, intensive, solution-focused, and cognitive behavioral techniques as needed to support patient safety.
Assesses the patient’s present status and identifies individual interventions tailored to the patient’s needs, using strong wellness and recovery orientation.
Creates a welcoming culture of group treatment designed to be inclusive, safe, and open to all patients
Maintains a flexible approach to group facilitation to ensure patients can participate in group treatment.
Trains other staff on group facilitation as needed.
Utilizes mindfulness-based interventions in a psycho-educational group
Leads psycho-educational groups for patients exhibiting a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses. Assesses and treats individuals living with mental illness, substance abuse, or co-morbidities.
Provide crisis intervention and support to assure the patient.
Support the milieu and interdisciplinary team with overall patient care needs as needed to ensure safety.
Collaborates with unit leadership to ensure programming meets regulatory and unit standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work required.
Additional Licensure in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling preferred.
