Nurse Research Scientist
Center for Nursing Excellance
Part-time, 24 hours p/week
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing Research and Education, the Nursing Research Scientist has responsibility andaccountability for the conduct of nursing research throughout the Department of Nursing and directs and evaluates the Researchand Evidence-Based Nursing Program with the Department of Nursing. The Nursing Research Scientist, advances knowledge andclinical practice by creating a spirit of inquiry and culture that supports the bedside, and advances a research agenda across theDHMC community. The Nursing Research Scientist mentor’s novice nurse researchers; teaches staff about Nursing research andevidence-based practice; and works to procure outside funding in support of Nursing research.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
- PhD in Nursing Science or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the development of nursing and interdisciplinary research.
- On-going focused research program of study.
- Distinguished record of funded research. Demonstrated competence and experience in the development, utilization, and evaluation of Nursing Research for a hospital-based program.
- Successful track record of nursing research projects (external funding and publication).
- Academic, clinical, and leadership experiences including experience as both a mentor to novice nurses and as an educator to nursing staff.
