Overview: We are seeking a skilled Hybrid Windows/Linux Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This position offers the opportunity to work with both Windows and Linux environments, ensuring the stability, integrity, security, and efficient operation of our company's IT infrastructure. Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain a hybrid environment consisting of Windows and Linux servers, ensuring high availability and reliability[RF2]
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server operating systems (including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP) and Linux distributions (such as Debian, Red Hat)
- Perform system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes
- Proactively ensure systems and infrastructure availability, stability, scalability, and security
- Collaborate with IT teams to assess system performance and make recommendations for improvements
- Serve as a technical resource for multiple project teams, providing expertise and guidance on infrastructure-related decisions and ensuring alignment with overall IT strategies and objectives.
- Automate routine tasks and develop scripts for system maintenance and operational efficiency
- Handle troubleshooting and resolution of issues across Windows and Linux platforms.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in system administration
- Respond to and resolve help desk requests
- Web server management (IIS or Apache).
- Database Software Administration (SQL Server, MySQL)
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator managing both Windows and Linux environments
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems (Debian, Red Hat)
- Experience with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN) and security practices
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Attention to detail, reliability in keeping commitments and meeting deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, RHCSA, CompTIA Linux ) are a plus
