Radio Frequency Technician 1

Reports to: Project Manager and/or Construction Manager

Travel required: Yes; to and from job sites (Most in DMA)

Pay: $28 - $38/hr.

FLSA status: Full-time, non-exempt

Working Schedule: Mon - Fri, 7 am - 4 pm (occasional weeknights and weekends as needed)

Position Summary

The RF Technician is responsible for RF site surveys, annual inspections, systems performance validation, trouble shooting and maintenance for Public Safety and Cellular DAS projects. This position involves working with various technologies / solutions to include Public Safety (ERCES) and Cellular (4G/5G). This position will work closely with clients, engineers, project management and construction teams.

Essential Responsibilities

• Utilize test equipment for RF Field engineering for all aspects of DAS projects
• Conduct RF site surveys, testing, inspections and trouble shooting
• Perform line sweep and PIM testing utilizing Anritsu and/or Agilent spectrum analyzers
• Perform system performance validation
• Document all deficiencies found during inspections
• Complete reports, submittals and deliverables for DAS projects and testing
• Develop accurate and completed grid for all public safety surveys
• Ability to adapt and support new technologies and software to include but not limited to IBWave, Blue Beam, PCTEL Cloud
• Read and navigate site plans and design documents
• Test and collect relevant data
• Troubleshoot overall system performance

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Familiarity with Public Safety and Cellular DAS equipment
• Proficiency with PCTEL IBFlex scanner & console software
• Proficiency with Spectrum Analyzers, Line Sweep Testing, PIM Testing
• Ability to articulate IBWave and design documents
• Highly organized and skilled at Time Management
• Proficient with MS Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Gmail)
• Strong verbal and communication skills with company staff, contractors, and clients
• Detail-oriented with high levels of accuracy
• A sense of urgency and follow up; take initiative to solve problems and learn
• Must be self-sufficient and feel comfortable working alone at times
• Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate occasional weeknights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiar with the DAS industry and/or construction
