Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Buyer 1 to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage purchasing activities, monitor inventory levels at offsite locations, and execute critical transactions within our MRP system. This role requires a mix of analytical, negotiation, and technical skills to ensure smooth procurement processes and effective inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement and Supplier Management:
- Create, issue, and track purchase orders (POs).
- Monitor and resolve late or delayed POs.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to meet budgetary and quality goals.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding order timing, changes, and other updates.
- Inventory Management:
- Track and manage inventory levels across all offsite locations.
- Perform transactions to record and adjust inventory in the company’s system accurately.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting for inventory movement.
- MRP System Transactions:
- Execute transactions related to PO receipts for offsite locations.
- Process inventory consumption on work orders.
- Maintain accurate records and data within the company’s ERP/MRP systems.
Qualifications
- Essential:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data and drive informed decisions.
- Proven experience in negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, v-lookups, and data analysis tools).
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Preferred:
- Familiarity with Acctivate inventory management system is highly desirable but not required.
