SUMMARY:
The Accounting Lead participates in the monthly close and consolidation process for DASCO Home Medical Equipment, LLC and subsidiaries. This individual will be required to complete daily objectives, projects, initiatives, and frequently interact with business partners and stakeholders. The position will have various day-to-day operations and month-end, quarter-end, year-end close responsibilities, as well as ad hoc projects and process improvements as necessary. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and will not have direct reports.
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that a candidate will be in the corporate office in Westerville, Ohio one day per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the accurate and timely monthly consolidation of DASCO and its related entities. This includes preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, allocations, and other recurring accounting tasks.
- Generate ad hoc reporting when necessary and identify potential process improvement opportunities
- Coordinate and communicate with business partners to effectively maintain the commercial vehicle fleet
- Must have a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
- Supports other responsibilities assigned as needed for financial close and reporting
Requirements
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Present excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
- Comfortable communicating with multiple business partners in various departments
- Ability to multi-task several projects and initiatives in a growing business environment
- Ability to identify inefficiencies, recommend, and implement solutions to improve operations
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as work independently
- Comfortable working in a hybrid work environment
- Ability to work under moderate supervision to determine and develop approaches and solutions to problems
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel
Qualifications Experience:
- 5-7 years of relevant experience utilizing generally accepted accounting principles
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
