Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Technician | Service Sales professional to play a critical role in our Service & Maintenance Group. This individual will serve as the technical arm of our Business Development Manager and construction estimating teams - conducting site assessments, providing expert-level service, and developing technical scopes and quotes for new opportunities. This role is designed for a seasoned AAADM-certified technician with strong sales acumen who can confidently represent our capabilities, close deals, train technicians, and recruit top talent in the industry. Additionally, this candidate will be responsible for instilling and maintaining a service technician culture aligned with company and group goals.
Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Service Work
- Serve as a lead technician handling complex service calls and ensuring high-quality work.
- Conduct on-site assessments for challenging service issues and provide accurate solutions.
- Support the Service Dispatch team by being the go-to expert for technical problem-solving in the field.
- Assist estimating teams with technical scopes for automatic door installations on larger projects.
- Maintain AAADM certification and uphold industry safety and compliance standards.
Service Sales & Business Development
- Act as the closer after the Business Development Manager presents company capabilities - instilling confidence in prospective clients through technical expertise.
- Identify upsell opportunities during service calls and proactively offer additional solutions.
- Engage in on-site prospecting for new clients - leveraging service visits to expand customer relationships (e.g., engaging neighboring companies for potential service needs during scheduled service activities).
- Follow up on incoming web leads and new client inquiries, ensuring prompt response and solution-based selling.
- Develop and present service contract proposals for long-term maintenance agreements.
Training, Technician Recruitment & Culture Development
- Train and mentor current technicians to improve service quality and upselling skills.
- Lead the recruitment and onboarding of skilled service technicians to strengthen our team.
- Establish a culture of technical excellence and customer-centric service within the field team.
- Ensure service technician culture aligns with company and group goals to maintain consistency in performance and service delivery.
- Assess and assist with enhancing technician self-quoting ability, providing service technicians with future potential for SPIF bonuses and other incentives.
Qualifications & Experience
- AAADM-certified technician with experience in both manual and automatic commercial doors.
- Proven experience as a Lead Technician or Service Supervisor in the commercial door industry.
- Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot automatic/manual door systems.
- Sales-oriented mindset with experience providing quotes and closing deals independently.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills—ability to build trust with clients.
- Hands-on leadership experience in training, mentoring, and recruiting service technicians.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple departments (Service Dispatch, Estimating, Sales, and Construction teams).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within South Florida.
