Utility Service Contractors is looking for hard working individuals to lead a horizontal directional drilling team for the installation of conduit and underground cable. In addition, the locator and the driller may also work together to install handholes, splice vaults, pedestals, ROW signs, and cable as required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Install conduit and underground cable using horizontal directional drilling equipment and locating devices
Review the scope of work and construction plans with the crew leader
Assist in verifying that all materials for the project are taken to the job site
Operate mini backhoe for placement of hand holes and the backfilling of dirt as needed on the job
Assist in the splicing of conduit, pulling of fiber through conduit, filling of water for rig operation, and any other related duties
Verify that all tools, equipment, and stocked supplies on your trailer are available and in working order
Report any deviations from the scope of work or construction drawings to the crew leader
Qualifications
Self-motivated, safety, quality, and production minded
Ability to read, comprehend and follow all quality / safety policies and procedures
Valid driver license and reliable transportation to and from work
2 years of relevant experience required
Must complete and pass a preemployment drug & alcohol screen
Knowledge of directional drill and / or locator operation
Ability to read redlines
Class A CDL required within 90 days of hire
