Job Title: Junior Accountant
Job Location: 12301 Kurland Drive, Houston, TX 77034
Primary Function:
The Junior Accountant position will work closely and support the Division Controller of the Project Management and Engineering Divisions. Additionally, the position will be tasked with covering activities in the areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting as needs arise.
Duties & Responsibilities
Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:
- Review job set ups for both divisions
- Review WIP report attributes, such as customer name, state, job type, etc.
- Support contract review and reconciliation for jobs
- Learn and maintain the ability to invoice POC and time and materials client billing
- Review accuracy of monthly billings for both divisions
- AR aging review and escalation of aged items to appropriate personnel
- Utilize non-confidential payroll from timekeeping application for client billing
- Customer statement reconciliations
- Cash receipts batch review
- Preliminary review of all audit selections
- POC job progress entry in financial application for Engineering division
- Create and import journal entries transactions (including PNC CC activity, POC WIP, etc.)
- Assist division controller with month-end close process and research
- Assist with Intra-company out-of-balance resolution
- Coordinate the clearing of open PO’s, subcontracts and open commitments when required
- Assist with Ad Hoc reports for the divisions, financial reporting and management
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. One years’ experience working in an accounting structure is preferred along with consideration of extracurricular activities that align with the skills and attributes required for this role. Current CPA license or active progression towards completion is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
- This position requires minimal physical effort.
- Must be able to endure prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to year around weather conditions and noise.
- Must be able and willing to travel overnight for trainings and/or meetings as required (10%)
- Working extended hours, including weekends, may be required periodically.
- May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
