Role Description & Responsibilities
Reporting to the NAM Director of FP&A, this role provides business partner support to Dassault Systemes North America business functions, sales organizations, and brands, including direct support to the Americas CFO and to corporate finance staff. This support includes modeling & monthly reporting of actuals vs budget and forecast, including detailed analysis of all personnel employer related costs (approximately 70% of the total NAM budget which include employer benefits, taxes, etc). This is a highly visible and collaborative role requiring excellent cross-organization communication skills, in-depth technical and data-mining skills, critical thinking & analysis, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
The North America Senior Financial Analyst (Personnel Cost Controller) is responsible for Incentive Compensation and Personnel Cost Expense management for the North America geography. As a trusted advisor and finance business partner to the NAM GEO Brands, Functions, Sales Organizations, NAM GEO CFO, NAM GEO FP&A Directors, NAM GEO Controller and Corporate Finance HQ, the NAM PCC provides business modeling, analysis, and insights to support the achievement of organizational objectives. Working closely with the NAM Incentive Compensation Controller and the NAM Director of FP&A, this individual is responsible for the timely and competent creation and analysis of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly operating results, including detailed personnel cost and incentive compensation variance analysis at the legal entity, GEO Function, and P&L account level. This position supports a detailed scope that requires attention to detail, cross-entity cooperation / collaboration and need for detailed review and analysis. Building a strong and trusted rapport with Global Function FP&A counterparts is critical to your success in this role.
Be responsible for all aspects of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis of NAM personnel costs for all function, brand, and sales organization employees in a 3500 person organization.
Be the subject matter expert on all NAM personnel cost drivers and assumptions.
Work in partnership with NAM GEO Incentive Compensation Cost Controller on the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and monthly / quarterly reporting cycles for all incentive compensation costs.
Partner with the Sales Compensation team for Actuals Analysis to support NAM Customer Engagement Models FP&A Analysts.
Work closely with NAM GEO and Brand analysts to streamline the budgeting and forecasting process, including tracking and analyzing changes from forecasting cycles.
Work closely with the Global Personnel Cost Controller team to drive process and / or budgeting tool improvements.
Statutory Reporting and Analysis on all personnel costs for the largest North America Entity.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, or Business Administration required, MBA a plus
- 5 years in a finance related position within a large, publicly held company
Solid understanding of finance / accounting principles (IFRS)
Strong Excel skills required. Advanced skills in pivot tables, functions, macros, & Excel VBA preferred.
Experience and competence in using integrated ERP software (PeopleSoft preferred) and multi-dimensional database analysis (TM1 Perspectives preferred)
Willingness to develop into a valued finance business partner to mid-level management
Ability to operate successfully at the detailed level and summarize analysis results to management
Ability to identify problems, determine root causes, devise short-term corrections, propose long-term solutions, and communicate all of this with the appropriate stakeholders.
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to a fast-paced and complex environment with multiple priorities and high volume workload
Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively to meet needs of multiple business and finance partners
Excellent interpersonal and written / verbal communication skills
Collaborative team approach in building and developing key business partner relationships across the GEOs and with Corporate FP&A
Prior experience in software or high-tech industry is preferred
Willingness to work additional hours at peak periods of activity
