JOB TITLE: General Manager WORK GROUP: Operations
REPORTS TO: Director of Restaurant Operations FLSA STATUS: Exempt
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The General Manager is responsible for directing the overall operational activities for the Restaurant while driving results through personnel development, as well as sales and profit growth. The General Manager is the ?Brand Ambassador? frequently connecting with the local community to develop and improve the Restaurant?s public relations, thus promoting the Dat Dog culture.
The General Manager will help to cultivate the Dat Dog culture throughout the company, with the knowledge that the brand is what ultimately improves the lives of those individuals that we serve, be it our Crew, Customers, Business Partners, or those Communities in which we live, work and play. Ultimately, these efforts will drive financial performance for the company.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for directing the overall operational activities for the Restaurant, driving exceptional, operational performance including but not limited to:
- Recruitment, Training, and Development of Shift Managers and Crew
- Promoting and Maintaining a Sales-Driven, Profit-Smart Mindset
- Maintain Operational Standards
- Drive the Achievement of Operational and Financial Results
- Facilities Repairs and Maintenance
- Cleanliness, Sanitation, and Safety
- Internal and External Communications
- Local Restaurant Marketing
- Responsible for the recruitment, development, and management of Shift Managers and Crew; thus cultivating future leaders for the company from within.
- Create Shift Manager and Crew schedules to ensure proper staffing levels for expected sale volumes, while taking into consideration availability, payroll, and overtime costs
- Responsible for the procurement, receiving, and storage of food, beverage, supplies, chemicals, and smallwares, in accordance with the established procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws.
- Oversee the implementation of the Restaurant's training program while promoting the Dat Dog Culture and philosophy of working hard while having fun.
- Effectively navigating the Profit & Loss Statement, translating financial reports with the knowledge of what ?levers to pull? to maximize profit.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable work environment for Crew and ensuring that the Restaurant and equipment are clean and in good working order always.
- Manage administrative responsibilities such as timekeeping, inventory management, cash handling, sales reporting, and records management under established procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws.
- Represent Dat Dog, developing and executing local Restaurant marketing initiatives, leveraging established marketing tools to improve effectiveness, and maximizing the return on investment.
- Identify areas for improvement and inspires Shift Managers and Crew to take the initiative to improve their performance.
