Position Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Unit Supervisor for our Rolling Department. The role is responsible for leading a maintenance crew to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality operations within a lean manufacturing (ABS) environment. This position requires strong leadership to drive productivity, safety, quality, and problem-solving in both planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Lead safety discussions and job-specific safety reviews.
- Oversee maintenance activities to support production, focusing on efficiency, quality, and recovery.
- Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to develop maintenance personnel.
- Assign tasks based on business priorities and crew availability.
- Optimize crew scheduling to handle planned/unplanned maintenance needs.
- Drive root cause analysis and rapid problem-solving to minimize downtime.
- Support asset management efforts to ensure long-term equipment viability.
- Advance business objectives in quality, cost reduction, waste elimination, and lean manufacturing.
- Handle performance management, including recognition and discipline, ensuring fair and documented actions.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to resolve issues and improve efficiency.
- Work 12-hour rotating shifts (switching every 6-12 weeks) based on business needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Experience in Maintenance.
- Supervisory experience with direct reports.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is
not available).
- Must comply with ITAR regulations (U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, asylees, or refugees only).Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical background is a plus.
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Knowledge of HR/IR policies, bargaining agreements, and local labor agreements.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing (ABS) principles.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,564.00 - $85,000.00 per year
