Job Description

Shipping Clerks can perform efficiently in a warehouse and dispatch environment by handling incoming and outgoing deliveries. The following are some duties and responsibilities for a Shipping Clerk that you should look out for in your candidate.

• Obtain and process product orders, including receiving deliveries, registering them, and distributing packages and letters within the company
• Maintain the company service stockroom through organizing, cleaning, and cataloging items on a regular basis
• Schedule large shipments and plan with carriers’ schedules to pickup to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items and staff on hand to manage the shipments
• Keep files of goods shipped by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers from Fed Ex or Ups terminals
• Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling
• Ensure adherence to environmental management and systems
• Trouble shoots shipping issues.
• Place merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility by packaging, lifting items as necessary, operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods

Qualifications for this role are:

• Must have 3-5 years warehouse experience.
• Must have the ability to lift and move heavy items/packages as required; up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to use a computer as needed for email, internet information and use Microsoft Office documents, Outlook, Excel, Word to create entries and maintain an electronic log of incoming and outgoing packages.
• Must have the ability to requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
• Experience in maintaining in-house vendor inventory.
• Must be able to maintain a busy loading dock in good order, including all necessary labels, equipment, materials and supplies.
• Experience in packaging outgoing shipments and parcels. Track shipments as needed.

Pay rate: $18/ hr
