What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer, Network Security IV position at Data Intelligence LLC?
Data Intelligence, LLC is seeking an experienced Network Security Engineer IV to join our team in supporting critical Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity initiatives in Dam Neck, VA. This position is fully on-site.

The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in network security, system hardening, and infrastructure protection in alignment with DoD cybersecurity standards. This position requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience securing and maintaining enterprise networks and systems in classified environments.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, implementing configuration, and enforcing of security controls across network, hardware, and software assets
- Applying DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to network and system configurations
- Managing large-scale, enterprise-level Active Directory deployments
- Using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tool for scanning and compliance
- Configuring/Managing Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls
- Using Wireshark and tcpdump to analyze and troubleshoot network traffic
- Identifying and resolving network connectivity and performance issues
- Implementing and maintaining firewall systems and intrusion detection/prevention systems
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
- 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree
- 8 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree
- 5 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- Minimum 10 years’ professional experience* in the following areas:

- Network Security
- STIG Implementation
- Active Directory Management
- Vulnerability Assessments
- CISCO Device Configuration
- Packet Analysis
- Network Troubleshooting
- Firewall & IDS/IPS

* 8 years of experience may be accepted for candidates possessing a Masters Degree in a relevant field; 5 years of experience may be accepted for candidates possessing a PhD in a relevant field
- Must have IAT Level III (CASP, CCNP, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP)
- CCNP Certification
- Active Secret Clearance or higher – must be TS/SCI eligible
Preferred Skills & Tools:
- Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity frameworks and compliance (NIST/RMF)
- Experience supporting classified or high-security IT environments
- Problem-solving skills and ability to lead incident response efforts
- Strong documentation and communication skills
