Data Intelligence is searching for a Senior Systems Administrator (Linux) to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) in Dahlgren,VA. . This is an onsite position.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and support of Linux-based systems, including application servers, proxy servers, security appliances, load balancers, storage, and network devices.
- Provide expert troubleshooting for system issues, requiring knowledge of firewall maintenance, DNS, networking, and switch configuration.
- Manage and troubleshoot common networking issues, including LAN/WAN networking, VLANs, and IP subnetting.
- Install, maintain, and upgrade operating system and application engine software.
- Monitor system, application, and network performance/availability
- Document system and application engine configurations
- Execute project plans, risk assessments, and contingency plan
- Provide architectural guidance and implementation expertise, and respond to customer problems reported via email and support ticket system
Skills & Experience:
- Six (6) years of professional experience in Unix and/or Linux system administration of networks and software systems
- Experience in:
- System backup and recovery
- basic software management
- security management
- library management
- installation and configuration of hardware
- operational systems and COTS software
- operation computer systems in different operation environments
- sizing performance
- tuning
- hardware/software/network trouble shooting
- resource allocation
- Qualified experience in:
- different network protocols including TCP/IP
- firewalls
- knowledge of computing and network vulnerabilities
- attach methods
- latest detection methods
- Proven ability to solve complex system-related problems independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments and manage projects of varying lengths
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields
- At least a secret level security clearance
- IAT III Certification
