Power BI Developer

Job Details:

Job Title: Power BI Developer

Duration: 12 months, with possible extension

Location: Burns Building, 605 Suwannee Street, Tallahassee, FL 32399 (On-site, 5 days per week).

Job Duties:

*) Analyze current data structures and recommend transformation processes for dashboard development.

*) Develop dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI, including paginated reports.

*) Collaborate with management to define a reporting roadmap and optimize existing reports.

*) Automate data transformation to reduce reliance on manual Excel workflows.

*) Write and convert Web FOCMainframe queries into T-SQL for better performance.

*) Collaborate with DBAs to create database views and stored procedures for Power BI reporting.

*) Build and maintain dataflows, dashboards, and OLAP-based reports in Power BI.

*) Recommend and implement improvements in financial data modeling, including Star and Snowflake Schemas.

*) Manage and administer Power BI workspaces, ensuring proper data governance.

*) Train Client staff on using Power BI tools and best practices.

*) Integrate Power BI with tools like Power Automate, Power Apps, and Teams.

*) Leverage knowledge of data governance, data warehousing, data lakes, and master data management.

*) Convert raw data into actionable insights with analytical thinking.

*) Work with IBM DB2 databases, Mainframe flat files, and ERP financial systems to streamline reporting.

*) Apply Agile/SCRUM principles for collaborative teamwork and project delivery.

Required experience:

*) 3 years of experience in Business Intelligence.

*) 2 years of experience developing dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.

*) Proven experience working with IBM DB2 databases.

*) Experience in financial reporting, including general ledger, revenue, and purchasing data.

*) Hands-on experience with Web FOCUS and working in Agile/SCRUM environments.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

*) Familiarity with Oracle Data Warehousing.

*) Experience in mainframe programming languages and systems.

*) Experience with API Management platforms like OIC.

*) Strong understanding of ERP migrations and financial data modeling.
