Main tasks
- Development of quotes for new and existing customers based on their requirements.
- Collaborate with sales and production teams to gather necessary information for quoting.
- Monitor market trends and adjust quotes and costs accordingly.
- Ensure all quotes are ready to be reviewed in a timely manner.
- Assist in maintaining an accurate cost model.
- Assist in maintaining customer pricing files.
- Monitor changes in products or processes to calculate effects on overall cost.
- Assist in updating operating system with new products and processes as they are introduced.
- Assist in development of bill of materials, routings, etc.
- Assist in updating the operating system with changes in processes and products as they occur. BOM, routings, etc.
- Analyze changes in Bill of Material (BOM), product design, raw materials, and manufacturing processes, to determine effects on cost, production scheduling, inventory values, and variances.
- Perform cost variance analysis to prepare reports for manufacturing and accounting.
- Assist with physical inventories.
- Proven experience in quoting and costing in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Cost systems background.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong computer skills - Email, Browsers, Spreadsheets, Cloud storage, etc.
- Strong excel skills (including V-Lookups and Pivot Tables).
- Strong time management skills.
- Experience with ERP systems, Great Plains is a plus
- Typical indoor office/manufacturing environment.
- When in manufacturing environment, the noise level is usually moderated to high and hearing protection may be required on the production floor and the employee is required to wear PPE. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
