DataStaff, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems/Network Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Richmond, VA
*This position is hybrid, 2 days per week will be onsite
Responsibilities:
- Installation, monitoring and management of Linux VM Servers, VMware vCenter, VMware v7.0, v8.0 ESXi Hosts, VMware Site Recovery Manager, Veeam Backup & Replication for Server Data backups / restore for on-prem and Cloud backups.
- Experience with Immutable backup and Scale-Out Repository configuration for on-prem and Azure storage accounts.
- Network protocol analysis using NetScout nGeniusOne and Wireshark for any application in use at the SCC.
- Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE) Synergy and C7000 Compute modules, HPE Synergy and C7000 Network and SAN Interconnects. HPE 3PAR and Alletra Storage arrays, HP5100 / 5260 Backup Storage arrays, HPE SAN switches,
- Citrix NetScaler, Azure and OCI load balancers and application firewall.
- Network appliances (physical and virtual), Cisco Routers, Firewall and Network Switches, Palo Alto NGFW and Panorama.
- Work with external account managers from various manufactures to maintain Service contracts, meet to discuss new technology, when to upgrade.
- Work with all levels of people internal and external to the SCC to resolve issues related to applications, network communication or services.
Required Skills:
- 5 Years - Extensive knowledge of Server Data backups, retention policies and restore of data using Veeam Backup & Replication console and Veeam One to on-prem and Azure Storage account cloud repositories.
- 5 Years - Experience with setting up and maintaining Linux VMs.
- 5 Years - Strong understanding of network protocols, ports, IP addressing, VLAN's, Firewall and Router rules, DNS, DHCP.
- 5 Years - Microsoft Active Directory security for users, groups, and files / file shares. Microsoft Azure and Office 365 Cloud infrastructure.
- 5 Years - Ability to collect and decode network traces using NetScout nGeniusOne and Wireshark.
- 5 Years - Working knowledge of SSL/TLS Certificates, creating, renewing and installation of certificates in various environments.
- 5 Years - Use of Command Line and web-based consoles to configure, update, maintain and backup network equipment, and configurations.
- 5 Years - Experience with Servers, Blade Servers, Chassis, and Interconnects including the consoles used to configure and maintain firmware and software.
- 5 Years - Experience with Cisco CLI and consoles for Routers, Firewall, Switches, ISE, and Wireless Controllers. (Below skill is attached to this one)
- 5 Years - Using Palo Alto Panorama to manage and maintain network and security configurations.
- 5 Years - Experience with Citrix NetScaler or other load-balancing and application firewall appliances.
- 5 Years - Working knowledge of using SFTP to backup configurations, upgrade software and firmware on various network appliances and systems.
- 5 Years - Experience with accessing manufacturer websites for opening support requests, downloading correct firmware, software updates and maintenance status
- 5 Years - Communication skills to work with people and any level to assist in problem determination, troubleshooting, resolution of any application at SCC.
- 5 Years - Communicating with account managers, sales managers, support engineers or teams to maintain a good working relationship for service contracts, price quotes and resolve any issues that may come up with support.
- 5 Years - Use of Office products and Visio for documentation of Systems and network equipment.
