About the Role:

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will first and foremost be an excellent hands on tech leader, and manage a team of up to 20 software engineers across multiple offices, driving innovation and ensuring the successful development of the company’s premier AR products. Reporting to the CTO, you will play a pivotal role in product strategy, stakeholder communication, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-on C Technical lead - you may not be hands-on every day but will be able to dive deep with the team, challenge them, and participate in weekly code review.
• As a manager, you will lead the development of the company’s flagship products and new software initiatives.
• Manage and mentor a geographically distributed team of engineers, fostering collaboration and growth.
• Conduct code reviews and challenge engineers to maintain top-quality software standards.
• Drive strategic roadmapping and ensure products are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
• Act as a key liaison for stakeholders, including customers, investors, and partners.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

• U.S. Citizenship (required for security clearance)
• at least 6 years of hands-on experience with C development (must be recent)
• Proven leadership experience managing a team
• Strong experience with Linux systems
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and CI/CD methodologies
• Excellent communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders

Preferred:

• Background in AR/VR or aerospace technology is a plus, but not mandatory
• Master’s degree in a STEM field
