Senior Mechanical Commissioning Specialist – Mission Critical Facilities

We are representing an industry leading owners rep & engineering firm seeking a Senior Mechanical Commissioning Specialist to lead the full lifecycle commissioning of critical facilities, including state-of-the-art data centers. In this role, you’ll collaborate with top engineers, contractors, and clients to test, validate, and optimise complex mechanical and controls systems that power some of the world’s most demanding environments.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead commissioning projects from proposal development to execution, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Perform onsite testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems, including HVAC, chilled water, and other critical infrastructure.
- Act as the primary client contact, building strong relationships and ensuring seamless project execution.
- Oversee functional testing of mechanical and controls systems to guarantee optimal performance.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of commissioning standards and best practices.
What You Bring:
- 13 years of experience in mechanical system commissioning, validation, and troubleshooting on data centers or other hi-tech projects.
- Deep understanding of mechanical and controls system principles within critical facilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, identify risks, and implement effective solutions.
- Strong communication skills to work with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the U.S. to oversee commissioning projects.

Salary : $140,000 - $200,000
