Job Description:
Our client are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commissioning Engineer to join our team, specializing in high-tech projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning phase of advanced engineering projects, ensuring that systems and equipment are installed, tested, and operating according to specifications and project requirements. This role demands a deep understanding of cutting-edge technologies, strong leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Lead and manage commissioning activities for high-tech projects, from initial planning through to project handover.
- Develop detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and documentation to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, including design, engineering, construction, and operations teams, to align commissioning activities with project timelines.
Technical Expertise:
- Perform and oversee the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of complex systems, including but not limited to automation, robotics, control systems, and specialized equipment.
- Ensure that all systems meet performance specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and other documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of systems to confirm their functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Identify and resolve any technical issues or discrepancies that arise during the commissioning process.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to maintain the highest standards of project delivery.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare detailed reports on commissioning activities, including test results, issues encountered, and solutions implemented.
- Maintain accurate records of all commissioning procedures, updates, and modifications.
- Provide clear and concise communication to project teams and stakeholders on commissioning progress and outcomes.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging innovative thinking and continuous improvement.
- Lead commissioning meetings, ensuring effective communication and coordination among team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Construction Management or HVACR, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years in construction with 3 years of experience in commissioning high-tech projects.
- Extensive knowledge of modern engineering systems, including automation, instrumentation, control systems, and robotics.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as CAD, PLC programming, and project management software.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including safety and environmental requirements.
Preferred Skills:
- OSHA 30
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ability to travel as required for on-site commissioning activities.
Compensation package includes:
- Base Salary- $120K-$140K
- Signing bonus
- Retention Bonus (after 6 months)
- Per Diem: $3600 p/m
- Travel allowance: $600 p/m
