Detailed Description

The role will focus on maintaining and converting components of our client's legacy application into latest C# .Net Core. You will also assist in supporting and running conversions of their clients into their Saas application utilizing internal conversion tools the team has developed. The Senior Software Engineer (SSE) is responsible for product implementation to accomplish on-time and efficient delivery of high-quality software products and / or data. SSEs are required to drive the design and implementation of our applications whilst improving our technical landscape. Your focus will be on conversions and upgrades, you will be involved in the initial tech discovery through to design and implementation. This role requires an engineer who is highly proficient in Microsoft Visual C 6, VB, C# and .Net Core.

The SSE should be highly skilled, must be detail oriented and possesses sharp troubleshooting skills; someone who is eager to deliver without compromising on quality. They must be able to evaluate priorities and offer solutions on the varying program areas. This individual must have the skills necessary to create component and application designs, skilled in patterns and practices, and highly skilled in VC , .Net and C#. This role specifically requires high level knowledge of VC and C#, .Net core, unit testing and delivering performant code. There are some components in VB and the SSE will be tasked to convert these over to C# and .Net Core. Our data tier is MS SQL and the SSE must be proficient in SQL including maintaining and created stored procedures.

SSEs work closely with business and development group in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, agile, cutting-edge work environment. Engineers exercise ownership, accountability, innovation, and commitment to their projects.

Must Have Skills

  • Excellent knowledge / experience of MS VC 6, C#, .Net Core, VB and MS SQL.
  • Visual Studio 6 and modern VS 2022.
  • InstallShield
  • Strong backend development experience including proficiency with SQL.
  • Well versed in converting legacy applications to modern technologies.
  • Track record of working with data intensive applications.
  • Git.
  • Unit and integration testing.
  • Worked in an agile / scrum environment.
  • Strong understanding of the software development process, verification of functional and non-functional requirements.
  • A collaborative team player who can work efficiently and autonomously with minimal

supervision.

  • Translate business needs into designs and technical solutions, work closely with the business
  • and testers to deliver business requirements efficiently and with high quality.

    Primary Responsibilities

  • Role will be split between converting legacy components to modern .Net and contributing to
  • our client

    data migrations, including maintaining and modifying the conversion tooling (C# / SQL).

  • Provide State rule changes for our legacy application and package changes through
  • InstallShield

  • Our development teams operate within a fast paced agile / scrum environment, you will be a part of and help improve our products to meet our customer needs.
  • We are a Microsoft shop on the backend, so you will be expected to have good experience with relevant development tools (Visual Studio, MS SQL)
  • You will advocate for quality and performance alongside engineering and business stakeholders
  • You will have a delivery centric mindset, with a focus on value, reusability, and extensibility
  • You will implement standards, patterns and advocate best practices / approaches that others within the team can support.
  • You will support team members including the tech lead / architect and contribute to creation and implementation of software designs / architecture.
  • Experience

  • 10 years working with a VC , VB, C#, .net, MS SQL
  • BS Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent experience required
  • Top 3 Must have skills :

    1. Microsoft Visual C 6

    2. C# .net

    3. VB / SQL
