The Materials Manager will oversee and optimize the flow of materials and inventory within the organization, ensuring alignment with production schedules and business goals. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with Intacct (POJ module), advanced Excel skills, and a proven track record of developing and improving processes for material management. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Role: Materials Manager

Pay: Salary, $65,000-$75,000 Bonus

Schedule: On-Site, Monday- Friday

Key Responsibilities:

Material Planning and Inventory Management

  • Monitor and maintain materials purchasing to meet production and operational needs.
  • Coordinate and track material movements, ensuring timely availability and delivery for production schedules.
  • Analyze material pricing discrepancies and implement corrective actions to minimize variances.

Purchase Order Operations

  • Utilize the company system for purchase orders and job costing.
  • Ensure accurate data entry, reconciliation, and reporting in systems for all material-related transactions.
  • Identify and resolve system or process issues ensuring data integrity and pricing accuracy.

Process Development and Improvement

  • Develop and implement efficient processes for material handling and purchasing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process inefficiencies and propose innovative solutions.
  • Create and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for material management workflows.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Generate regular material reports using Excel and the company’s proprietary system.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, forecast material needs, and support decision-making.
  • Present key insights and recommendations to leadership for improved material utilization.

Vendor and Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to address material-related concerns and align priorities.
  • Manage purchase orders, receiving processes, and material returns in coordination with suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing and discount terms with vendors.

Qualifications:

Required

  • 3 years of experience in materials/vendor management or a related role.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, and data visualization.
  • Demonstrated experience building and refining processes or workflows.

Preferred

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred.
  • Experience with other ERP systems or supply chain tools.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with construction industry operations.
