St. Louise House is the home for the retired Sisters of the Daughters of Charity and is located in Menands, NY. St. Louise offers a beautiful, homelike setting in a suburban environment. Our employees are part of the Daughters of Charity Ministries. We have an opportunity available for the following:
LPN, Part Time- 32 hours per 2 week pay period- 1st shift, includes every other weekend
Our Nurse's Role Includes:
Assisting in the provision of the individualized, goal oriented, nursing care, utilizing the nursing process, in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and other members of the patient care team.
Establishing and maintaining a therapeutic relationship with each resident
Assist in determining current and potential needs and/or problems of Sister residents to create a care plan for each Sister based on individual needs.
Implement nursing actions according to the established care plan
Maintain professional discretion and strict confidentiality in all aspects of the position especially in regards to our Sister residents.
Assist in maintaining a clean, orderly and safe environment for our residents and staff
Maintain professional development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations
Ability to react to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and community goals
Show leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skills
Maintain infection control standards
Assist in evaluating some team members
Physical/Environmental Requirements
Must be able to physically and efficiently perform the duties of the position which involves the following: Standing and walking 2/3 of the shift, sitting 1/3 of the shift; must have use of hands and fingers to handle and feel; must be able to bend, stoop and reach; lifting may involve up to 300 lbs 1/3 to 2/3 of the day with the use of lifting equipment when needed.
Moderate physical activity performing strenuous daily activities of a primarily productive/technical nature
Work environment- well lighted, heated/air conditioned indoor space
Excellent Staff to Resident ratio
Must have an unencumbered, valid NYS Nursing License as an LPN
Rate of Pay- $25-$28.50
