Seton Center, Inc's mission is to work with our neighbors to build a hopeful future, in the spirit of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, through a focus on the well-being of the whole person. The Seton Center is currently looking for a Full-time Thrift Store Assistant.
POSITION SUMMARY : The Thrift Store Assistant functions under the supervision of the Operations Manager. The Assistant is responsible for assisting in the implementation of daily operations for the Store in a respectful manner. The Assistant is also responsible for seeing all written policy and guidelines are followed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Sort, clean, price, store and handle home goods, clothing, accessories, and miscellaneous items received from donors.
- Assist in researching and pricing high-end merchandise on the internet.
- Assist in the opening and closing of the store.
- Assist in the operation of the POS system as assigned, when associates are on vacation, and when the store is experiencing high traffic.
- Provides excellent customer service while operating the POS system.
- Answer phone, direct calls to correct person or answer customers' questions.
- Responsible for overall arrangement, cleanliness, and appearance of work / storage spaces at all times.
- Assist in the proper display of merchandise.
- Assist in delegating the work by partnering with volunteers assigned to the store.
- Assist in counting and recording all money from sales and donations, prepare deposit and properly secure all monies.
- Maintains the confidential nature of information obtained through Seton Center.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
