Our client, a leader in metal fabrication solutions, is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to oversee and expand their presence across the Western United States. This role involves managing a team of seven direct sales representatives within the specified territory, focusing on high-quality metal fabrication equipment, including punch and die tools, press brake tooling, and laser consumables. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal fabrication, proven leadership skills, and a deep technical understanding of metalworking equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of seven direct sales representatives, setting performance goals and providing ongoing support to achieve regional sales targets.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to exceed regional and corporate sales objectives, aligning with overall business goals.
- Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, providing expert guidance on industry-leading products and services to meet their fabrication needs.
- Market Analysis: Gather and analyze market feedback to refine sales strategies, identify opportunities for growth, and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
- Field Support: Work closely with sales representatives, offering technical expertise and best practices to enhance sales performance and customer satisfaction.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor key metrics, including customer acquisition, sales growth, and product segment performance, to ensure alignment with regional goals.
- Product Presentations: Deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations to potential and existing customers, showcasing the value and capabilities of our products.
- Event Representation: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and open houses to expand market presence and identify new business opportunities.
- Operational Leadership: Oversee daily sales operations, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations, to build a high-performing sales team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales management and other departments to align strategies and ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of sales and/or sales management experience in the sheet metal fabrication or related metalworking industries.
- Strong technical knowledge of punch, die, press brake, and laser consumable products.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and leading successful sales teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel regionally as necessary (50% or more).
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM software; familiarity with CAD or programming software is a plus.
- Self-motivated, confident, and results-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Total Compensation: $100,000 - $165,000/year (includes base salary plus commissions and bonuses).
