- Reviews all invoices, purchase orders and manual entries coded to Projects subledger for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Creates project assets and registers business assets in accordance with Company policy to ensure all assets are transferred from Projects to Assets subledger in a timely manner and with the appropriate attributes.
- Maintains Asset subledger including transfers between stores and useful life updates as well as identifying and processing asset disposals.
- Prepares and records monthly journal entries related to fixed asset.
- Prepares all fixed asset related reconciliations and required reports.
- Gathers information related to fixed assets for internal and external auditors and consultants.
- Maintain the company’s fixed asset policy and ensure it is in compliance with GAAP. Including assisting and guiding other departments in determining what costs qualify as capitalizable.
- Ensure company is in compliance with internal SOX controls for areas assigned.
- Assists in the development of Company accounting policies and process improvement initiatives at store and corporate levels.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four year college or university in Accounting plus 2 years relevant experience (multi-unit retail or restaurant industry experienced preferred).
- Experience with large ERP systems (Workday is a plus).
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc.
- Proficient with basic computer applications, including Excel, Word, E-Mail. 10-key by touch required.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form.
- Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of customers or employees of organization.
