Floral Clerk

Position Summary

A Dave’s Fresh Marketplace Floral Clerk is tasked with providing excellent customer service, paired with high-quality plant/floral arrangements. As a member of the Floral Department, the Floral Clerk will partake in cleaning, cutting and processing flowers with the intention of providing the most appealing product to the customer. Additionally, Floral Clerks operate the registers to process payment for customers’ orders as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

·         Prior floral experience preferred, but not required

·         Must be 18 years of age or older

·         Must be comfortable with customer facing interactions

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Ensuring that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment – includes greeting and acknowledging customers, smiling, making eye contact, and all other components of customer service
• Establish friendly relationship with customers
• Take customer orders with accuracy: both by phone and in-person
• Cleans, cuts and processes flowers appropriately
• Inventories product, cares for damaged product and replaces as necessary
• Maintain visually appealing displays
• Completely cleans floral department, cases, backroom work areas, sinks, counters and coolers as directed
• Orders flowers, plants and supplies when directed Unloads deliveries and places products in appropriate storage
• Waters plants
• Maintain and stock supplies as needed
• Removes trash as needed
• Cashier, run department register to ring through customer orders as needed
• Maintains a positive work environment
• Strict adherence to safety practices and procedures
• Walks department regularly to ensure an organized, and overall clean appearance at all times
• Maintaining clear communication with the Floral Manager at all times
• Notifies Floral Manager of pricing discrepancies
• Ensures that all cleaning tasks are completed as required
• Adhering to department-specific dress code policy
• Completes all logs as required
• Strict adherence to all Food Safety & Sanitation procedures
• Adherence to all Dave’s Fresh Marketplace policies, procedures, and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention
• Follows all safety practices and procedures
• Performing other duties as needed

·         Must be able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week
