POSITION SUMMARY
A Dave’s Fresh Marketplace Grocery Clerk is responsible for stocking, assisting customers, and providing support to the Grocery, Dairy, and Frozen departments. This position ensures proper inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability. As a Grocery Clerk is frequently on the sales floor, assisting customers is an important responsibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Prior grocery experience preferred, but not required
· Must be 18 years of age or older
· Must be comfortable with customer facing interactions
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
· Ensuring that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment – includes greeting and acknowledging customers, smiling, making eye contact, and all other components of customer service
· Maintaining an awareness of all in-stock grocery, dairy, and frozen product
· Understands advertisements and can communicate discounted products to customers – I.E., Weekly Ads and Temporary Price Reduction (TPR) products
· Receives product deliveries, ensuring order and invoice accuracy
· Assisting in receiving, organizing, stocking, and rotating merchandise
· Maintains back-stock areas according to department standards
· Merchandises and displays product as directed
· Facing/pulling-forward product on the shelves, ensuring a full and neat appearance
· Assists in building displays; maintains clean and fully-stocked shelves
· Ensures all products are rotated and within the expiration date
· Maintains clear communication with management
· Notifies management of pricing discrepancies
· Communicating customer requests to management
· Assists Grocery Manager as needed
· Cleans floors, shelves, and backroom
· Adherence to department-specific dress code policy
· Adhering to all Dave’s Fresh Marketplace policies, procedures, and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention
· Strict adherence to Food Safety & Sanitation procedures
· Performing other duties as assigned

· Proper handling of equipment such as knives, boxcutters, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jack, and hand trucks

· Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized
· Reliable and dependable; able to work a flexible schedule – including weekends
· Must be able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week

· Ability to self-motivate and stay on task without constant supervision
