Summary:
Responsible for facilitating, recording and verifying deliveries and returns of product to the store. Also, maintains accurate records of invoices for review if needed on a disputed deliver and ensures that all vendors are scanned in and systematically transmitted to corporate for accurate billing/payment purposes.
Essential Functions / Requirements:
Providing quality customer service is an essential component of every position within Dave's Supermarket stores. Each position serves its own group of customers, which may consist of consumers, co-workers, vendors and business associates. As much care should be given to handling our internal “customers”, as the ultimate consumer.
- Receive, check and verify all merchandise delivered to the store.
- Accurately account for and verify all invoices to include: items received are of good quality, quantity, item description, size, price and pack are correct.
- Follow strict adherence to all Dave’s Receiving policies and procedures.
- Properly communicate scanned vendor information into corporate for easy payment of invoices (including exceptions).
- Responsible for control of hard copy perishable invoices (manually received) and sending in for payment.
- Systematically process any “after-hours” invoices that need to be scanned in due to late delivery.
- Compile and submit weekly invoices in to the Accounting Department every Saturday to close out the receiving/billing week.
- Responsible for security of the receiving area.
- Provide proper training for the entire receiving staff to ensure consistent check-in of merchandise.
- Handle damaged and spoiled products according to policy and assure proper credit documentation is completed when necessary.
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment in the backroom area, to include: sweeping, mopping and organizing cases of product.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Experience and Requirements:
- High School Diploma (or GED/ High school equivalence Certificate) or equivalent experience required
- 1 year minimum work experience required
- Work experience in a grocery or retail environment preferred
- Ability to successfully navigate and operate a computer
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs preferred
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a non-stationary position for 90 percent of the time. The individual needs to occasionally move about inside the store. This person frequently operates a computer. Must be able to communicate with other employees and vendors to verify and audit deliveries. Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally up to 60 lbs.
