What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL - 215 DAY CONTRACT position at Davenport Community Schools?

Salary is dependent upon education and experience (minimum salary is $112,282)
- Assists the Principal in evaluating teaching effectiveness, analyzing student data to inform instructional decisions, and leading curriculum development initiatives.
- Oversees the monitoring of student progress, and facilitates interventions for struggling students.
- Leads professional development opportunities for teachers to improve instruction.
- Assists with the selection, onboarding, evaluation, retention, and support of staff.
- Participates in IEP meetings and other scenarios pertaining to special education.
- Assists with the development of the master schedule.
- Develops and administers a budget within their area of responsibility.
- Develops and implements building, district and program goals.
- Maintains and submits data, records and reports.
- Enforces the policies of the Board of Education, District, Building and Principal directly through the application of PBIS and equitable discipline practices such as mediation, restorative circles, mentorship, behavior plans, safety plans, etc.
- Collaborates with counselors and other support staff to address student needs.
- Investigates incidents and coordinates responses to student concerns.
- Provides feedback and coaching to teachers to improve their practice.
- Facilitates communication between the principal and staff members.
- Provides crisis intervention including deescalation when needed.
- Performs hallway, buildings, grounds and cafeteria supervision duties.
- Oversees and manages the athletic programs.
- Ensures a safe environment at school and school sponsored events.
- Communicates effectively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and other stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Builds and maintains a rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each student reaches their full potential.
- Supports and implements DCSD’s multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for behaviors and academics.
- Responsible for the safety, well-being and work output of students.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to visually monitor students.
- Must be able to regularly sit, stand, speak, hear, see and walk to carry out routine duties.
- Must be able to lift, move, or push items up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.
- Must be able to supervise students and staff in all types of weather (indoors and outdoors).
- Must be able to supervisor students’ activities and events.
- Good attendance and punctuality are required.

Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in secondary school administration.
- Evaluator Certification.
- Administrative experience and/or building leadership experience.
- Secondary teaching and extracurricular duties experience.
