Description
Under the direction of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, Davenport Country Club Pool Line Cook will work hands-on in the Pool kitchen. Set up the line for lunch and dinner services and produce food items according to recipes and standardized presentations. The Line Cook should be organized, flexible, and self-motivated. Have the ability to provide the highest level of culinary service and professional interaction to our Membership. WE WILL TRAIN YOU and you will have an experienced Chef working with you to help you.
Requirements
- Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations
- Maintains neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times
- Sustains a positive attitude at all times when on club property, treats members, team members, and guests respectfully and graciously
- Check and initial opening/closing duties sheet every day when you open/close
- Wraps, labels, dates, and neatly stores all food items, using the prescribed FIFO system
- Keep the Kitchen clean and organized at all times
- Notifies the Chef or Aquatics Director in advance of all expected shortages
- Go through food production checklists at the beginning of each shift
- Ensures that workstation and equipment are clean and sanitary - maintains the highest sanitary standards
- Upholds safety and security in workstation
- Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the Pool Bistro and equipment
- Attends staff meetings and line up’s
- Assists with other duties as instructed by the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, or Aquatics Director
Experience and Additional Skills:
- Previous professional kitchen experience is preferred but not required
- Enrolled in a current culinary program or vocational school
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work in a busy environment while maintaining organization, attention to detail, and focusing on cleanliness
- Ability to be on feet for up to 100% of the prescribed shift
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, able to stand, bend, stoop, twist, and turn for prolonged periods of time.
- The position will require working inside and outside at various times of the year
Benefits
Compensation:
Non-Exempt, Starting between $12.00 and $14.00 per hr, free employee meal provided for each shift worked
