Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our family owned and operated dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office while providing exceptional care to our patients. This position requires strong communication skills, a commitment to infection control, and proficiency in dental terminology. Mon - Thursday 6:30 - 4:30, 4 days a week with 1 friday/month. 2 years experience required.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring a sterile and organized environment.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed.
- Manage patient records using dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently.
- Perform basic administrative tasks including answering phones and managing correspondence.
- Support pediatric dentistry practices with patience and understanding.
- Stay updated on medical coding and dental terminology to assist with billing processes.
Skills
The successful candidate should possess the following skills:
- Proficiency in infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Experience with Eaglesoft or Dentrix software for managing patient records.
- Knowledge of medical coding and dental terminology for effective communication with insurance providers.
