What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping/Laundry position at Davenport District Hospitality Inc?
4-5 days a week, Weekends required.
Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of guest room & restaurant linens, and assist all attendants in maintaining high quality standards.
Essential Functions:
Sort laundry to be cleaned.
Operate washers, dryers and finishing equipment.
Fold, count, and distribute clean linen.
Pick up and deliver full laundry bins to and from storage rooms.
Performs cleaning and organization of storage rooms.
Clean the laundry machinery.
Assist in table linen and rooms linen inventories.
Ensure that chemicals are used in accordance with safety regulations.
Report all repairs to designated manager.
Perform errands for guests as requested i.e., delivering towels, blankets, pillows, etc.
Assist with answering the telephone.
Ensure that all guests are greeted.
Maintain good response time to guest and management requests.
Additional Responsibilities:
Keep work area neat and organized.
Conduct self in a professional manner at all times.
Maintain a safe working environment and immediately report all unsafe conditions.
Maintain a good working relationship with all departments.
Comply with all policies and procedures set forth by the property Employee Handbook.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous hotel laundry or housekeeping experience preferred.
Knowledge of chemicals and operation of industrial machines.
Ability to:
- Work any day of the week and any hour.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Work as part of a team.
- Communicate effectively.
- Receive and follow both verbal and written instructions.
- Work well under pressure.
