About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader for the role of Associate Department Chair/Program Director within our College of Health Professions. This position has direct oversight of Health Services Administration, Health and Human Service Case Management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Allied Health education by driving the development and execution of innovative curricula, mentoring faculty, and ensuring our programs meet the highest standards of academic excellence. As a key player in our department, you will work closely with faculty and community partners to create transformative educational experiences that equip students for success in the healthcare field.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership & Faculty Development:
- Collaborate with the Department Chair in managing the development and execution of courses and curricula that align with the department's mission and strategic goals.
- Hire, mentor, evaluate, and support faculty and adjunct faculty, promoting a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Facilitate the creation and delivery of course schedules, ensuring alignment with institutional needs and faculty expertise.
- Provide guidance and training to faculty on the latest trends in curriculum development, instructional technology, and best practices in teaching.
- Lead the annual assessment of academic programs and use data-driven insights to continuously enhance the learning experience.
Program Management & Student Success:
- Oversee the successful delivery of all Allied Health programs, ensuring that courses, internships, and practicums meet accreditation and professional standards.
- Advise prospective and current students on program offerings, career paths, and academic requirements, creating pathways for student success.
- Collaborate with Career Services to secure high-quality internship and practicum sites, helping students gain real-world experience.
- Cultivate strong relationships with healthcare facilities and community partners to enhance student opportunities and program growth.
- Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC, and national affiliations associated with athletics or other role-specific regulations.
- Provide GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.
- Demonstrate and promote University Cultural Values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Accreditation & Compliance:
- Ensure that all programs meet the standards set by national accrediting bodies, including preparing for site visits, conducting self-studies, and maintaining documentation.
- Oversee program data collection, analyzing results to ensure compliance with state and national credentialing exam pass rates.
- Maintain all required student records and ensure adherence to professional and regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
Community Engagement & Marketing:
- Serve as a representative of the department at internal and external events, building relationships with community colleges, industry leaders, and prospective students.
- Work with the marketing and admissions teams to promote the department's programs and attract top-tier candidates.
- Maintain a visible presence in professional organizations to stay current on industry trends and raise the profile of the College of Health Professions.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required, terminal degree preferred, in a related field.
- RN license required
- 3-5 years of higher education teaching experience, preferably in healthcare or a clinical healthcare setting.
- At least 3 years of leadership/management experience in Health and Human Services, Case Management, or Health Services Administration.
- Proven track record of successful program management and the ability to foster a collaborative, student-centered environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences and drive program success.
- Experience with curriculum development and course planning, with an understanding of accreditation requirements.
- Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development in both educational theory and healthcare practice.
- Ability to adapt to change and contribute to a positive, solution-oriented working environment.
- Experience working with computerized data systems and managing student records efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations, fostering inclusivity and promoting a culture of equity and respect.

- Physical Requirements: Occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs) and extensive use of computers and telephones.
