Davey Coach Sales, the leader in small to mid-size bus sales and leasing has opened a location in the Southern California market. The purpose of this position is to sell vehicles in the specialized motor vehicle (non-automotive) transportation industry. This is a consultative sales process and success will be achieved by understanding and demonstrating features, capabilities, and characteristics of the product lines that we represent. You will be responsible for maintaining existing accounts as well as developing and qualifying new clients and closing sales.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understands specialized motor vehicles/equipment by studying characteristics, capabilities, and features; comparing and contrasting competitive models in our industry
- Develops buyers by maintaining rapport with previous customers; suggesting trade-ins; meeting prospects at trade shows and cold call visits with demonstrator vehicles; greeting drop-ins; promptly responding to phone and internet inquiries; recommending sales campaigns and promotions
- Responsible for completion of the Davey University training system; as well as adhering to all processes and procedures contained within that training
- Responsible for inputting all leads into our Dealer Management Sofetware or other CRM system
- Qualifies buyers by understanding buyer's requirements and interests; matching requirements and interests to various models; building rapport
- Demonstrates vehicles/equipment by explaining characteristics, capabilities, and features; demonstrating vehicles in-person drives; explaining warranties and services
- Complete the full sales life cycle, including writing quotes, orders, and trade-in appraisals
- Maintains an organized and detailed system of all quotes and orders that have been generated
- Closes sales by overcoming objections; asking for sales; negotiating price; completing sales or purchase contracts; explaining provisions; explaining and offering warranties, services, and financing; collecting payment; occasionally delivering automobile
- Provides sales management information by completing required reports
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities offered thru the dealership; reading professional publications
- Enhances dealership reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Participate in person or telephonically in all Sales Department Meetings
- Responsible for office coverage Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays as scheduled, while in town
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience required (unless otherwise noted):
- High School diploma or GED is a minimum requirement; a minimum of 5 years sales experience
- Preferred experience in selling tangible products and services
- Will require acquiring a motor vehicle salesperson license
- Cold call experience. We provide leads, but a critical component of success is the ability to harvest and cultivate one’s own leads
- Territory Management Experience preferred
- Tradeshow Experience preferred
- Will require acquiring a Commercial Driver’s License ( Class B, which includes Air Brakes and Passenger Endorsements). This includes a written test, behind the wheel exam and a Federal DOT Physical
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
- Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, email, and basic internet usage
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Must be detail-oriented; ability to correctly complete all sales paperwork, including but not limited to, buyer’s orders
- Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services
- Ability to work well under the pressure of meeting tight deadlines in a timely manner
- Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
- Ability to work on multiple projects while maintaining focus on details required for individual assignments

- Working conditions are normal for a fast-paced office work environment
