POSITION: Transmission Consulting Utility Forester
TYPE: Full-Time, Monday thru Friday, weekday overnight travel required
POSITION LOCATION: San Angelo / Abilene, TX

The Davey Resource Group (DRG) is currently hiring certified arborists, professional foresters, horticulturalists, natural resource specialists, environmental scientists, GIS technicians, and plant and outdoor enthusiasts to join our workforce.
Responsibilities
- Work with major gas / electric utility system and address its forestry needs
- Inspect transmission utility rights of ways and identify vegetation incompatible with state and federal regulations
- Collect and enter data on handheld devices, follow maps and use GPS navigation
- Communicate with landowners regarding work on or near their property
- Assess all terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions
- Coordinate with project managers, planners, and vegetation crews
- 50 - 75% weekday, overnight travel required
- Other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
- Clean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle
- Ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather
- Two or four year degree in horticulture, forestry, urban forestry, environmental science or a related discipline OR
- Minimum of 1 year of utility vegetation management experience or similar experience in a related field (tree work industry, landscape professional)
- International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist OR has ability to sit for the exam within the first 12 months of hiring
