Strategic Responsibility:
The Copyright Administrator is responsible for all processes related to song publishing copyright within the music publishing royalty system for Integrity Music’s global offices to ensure accurate and timely song metadata delivery to external sources for registrations and licensing of the song publishing catalog. The Copyright Administrator shall also be required to serve as a backup for the Licensing and Digital Rights Manager, and have a working knowledge of how to use Integrity’s internal licensing platform OWLs (Online Worldwide Licensing Site), in order to provide backup support with issuing song and master use licenses to third parties for uses of Integrity Music’s owned or controlled songs and master recordings.
Job Description:
Leads the ongoing auditing of the global song catalog within the music publishing system including song maintenance, registration conflict resolution, agreement generation and maintenance for international registrations, and any other tasks required for CWR catalog compliance.
Perform accurate setup and maintenance of all song publishing information, in accordance with songwriter contracts, for administration agreements for USA signed agreements and UK signed agreements. To include the timely delivery of new song data to our 3rd party sub-publishers monthly.
Responsible for accuracy of Integrity’s global song publishing database, including liaising with our UK office to troubleshoot registration errors. To include collection of ISWC codes, PRO work codes, CCLI #s and outside ISRC codes for all songs in the owned/controlled Integrity Music catalogs, as well as agreement generation and maintenance for international registrations.
Ensure successful and timely song registrations for all songs with PRS/MCPS and ICE in the UK, and the timely and accurate registrations of USA songs with the PROs, MLC, CCLI and sub-publishers, as well as and collection of acknowledgement files for said song submissions.
Provide excellent and timely customer service by assisting in resolution of inquiries from royalty payees by directing all questions to appropriate management or royalties personnel.
Administer the timely completion and submission of copyright recordations and registrations of all sound recordings and song copyrights with the Library of Congress’ Copyright Office for all owned intellectual property (and as needed for administered works).
Serve as a backup to the Licensing and Digital Rights Manager, in order to assist with issuing song and master use licenses to third parties for uses of Integrity Music’s owned or controlled songs and master recordings.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
Formal Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Music Business preferred but not required
Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of Copyright Administration is required. Minimum of 1 year Music Maestro experience is preferred.
Specialized Knowledge/Certification: Intermediate skills using Microsoft Word and Excel (pivot tables & VLOOKUP) Analytical background. Excellent organizational skills. Working knowledge and experience with copyright laws, song publishing, and licensing. Familiarity with music royalty terms for music publishing royalties. Familiarity with standard industry terms and rates for music licenses and copyright clearances. Strong and consistent attention to detail is a must
