Strategic Responsibility :
The Creative Director - Learning Resources Group provides strategic leadership and oversees the visual direction for David C Cooks authors, products, and projects while contributing hands-on creative work. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong working portfolio and mastery in their craft, whether specializing in graphic design, video production, or both. The Creative Director will lead and manage a team of designers, videographers, editors, and external vendors to produce market-leading assets using current industry best practices. Additionally, this position will coach and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. They will also ensure timely and effective communication and progress updates with internal and external stakeholders, including publishing, curriculum, marketing, production, and authors.
Job Description :
- Guides all projects and is responsible for the overall quality of work produced by the creative department.
- Lead and direct the creative team in the production of all marketing collateral and creative content, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Manage the creative process from concept to completion, ensuring efficient workflows and timely delivery of projects.
- Build treatments, implement actionable strategies, and (when needed) creative deliverables for graphic design, video, and web projects, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and emerging trends.
Position Requirements :
Formal Education : Bachelors degree in graphic design, film, marketing, or other applicable area of study. Equivalent work history in lieu of education will be considered.
Experience : 5-7 years experience in creative direction with a proven track record of managing a multi-disciplinary team required. Previous experience in account leadership and marketing / retail is preferred. The candidate must have strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines. They should possess a demonstrated ability to translate strategy into effective tactics. Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential. Proficiency in graphic design, web design, and video / audio editing is required.
Specialized Knowledge / Certification : Expert experience with the Adobe Creative Suite. Basic knowledge and experience with MS Office. Savvy in email marketing and lead lifecycle optimization.
Equipment Knowledge : Stay up-to-date with new marketing trends and digital-first technologies. Comfortable working daily with a global team and liaising with people abroad.
