What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-House Real Estate Attorney NYC position at David Carrie?
A NYC real estate company is looking for an attorney with at least five years of experience with REBNY rules for brokerages and NAR rules in our other states like California, Florida etc. where there are MLSes and NAR rules.
Base Comp Range : $150,000-270,000 ( bonus)
Key Responsibilities :
Draft and review demand letters and correspondence related to real estate disputes, including commission claims, failure to disclose and other disputes related to real estate transactions.
Assist in the preparation, review, and editing of contracts, including brokerage agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
Manage and track legal cases, deadlines, and communications with outside counsel.
Maintain and organize matter files and track matters to support legal team members.
Handle dispute resolution matters with clients, brokers, third parties, and agents, including internal arbitration process.
Conduct legal research and prepare internal memoranda on New York real estate laws and regulations impacting residential transactions.
Support legal team members on all other issues as needed.
Qualifications :
J.D. degree required. 5 - 7 years of experience in residential real estate law, with knowledge of residential brokerage law in NY and FL, in addition to litigation and commercial knowledge.
Strong drafting skills, particularly in demand letters and client correspondence.
Experience handling commission disputes, contract breaches, and real estate brokerage issues is highly preferred.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Salary : $150,000 - $270,000
