About the role
Our small family-owned and operated USDA poultry processing plant is looking for an experienced quality assurance food safety specialist. The QA Specialist will be responsible for food safety and quality in our single location. This includes maintaining, utilizing, and improving the HACCP, SOP, SSOP, and prerequisite programs. They will also be working closely with onsite USDA staff to ensure that our products are wholesome and safe.
The QA Specialist will be reporting to Natan Fink, VP Operations, and will work closely with Yehudah Fink, current HACCP coordinator; Mark Shaffer, production manager; and Xochitl Amador, QA tech.

- Maintain Records for All QA Programs
- Supervise assistant QA technician(s) as needed
Measurables
- Increase critical control points achievement rates.
- Improve microbiological testing results.
- Improve USDA risk assessment status.
- Improve product quality and shelf life.
Location & Commitments
- Full-time position with the opportunity to start part time during transitioning.
- Monday – Friday production week (with a few Sundays per year).
- Report to work at 300 Breck St. Scranton, PA 18505.
Candidate Requirements
- HACCP Certification
- Reliable and independently motivated
- Attention to detail
- Computer Literacy
- Including: Excel, Word, Windows file system, Gmail
Beneficial Candidate Skills
- Experience with QA/QC in a USDA processing facility
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Willingness to learn and grow with the company
Pay & Benefits
- Pay commensurate with experience
- Annual Range $50,000-$85,000
- Hourly rate with overtime 1.5x after 40 hours per week
