David Evans and Associates Inc (DEA’s) is seeking a motivated Transportation Planner to join our dynamic Smart Mobility group. This group blends transportation planning with traffic engineering to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.
This position offers flexibility in location, with the option to work in our Los Angeles, Apple Valley, Ontario, or Tustin, CA offices, and you may also have opportunities to support projects in other Southern California offices.
The primary responsibilities for this position will be diverse and will include but not be limited to the following:
Provide technical direction and task leadership for transportation planning and traffic engineering projects.
Develop and complete multimodal traffic impact analyses, traffic operations analyses, corridor studies, and area transportation plans.
Perform research, analyze findings, and prepare recommendations for transportation planning and traffic engineering projects, as well as multi-discipline projects.
Oversee and develop travel demand forecasts and perform traffic analyses using analysis and modeling software.
Assist with and coordinate development and production of project deliverables, including written documentation and presentations.
Support project managers and task leads on multi-discipline transportation planning and traffic engineering projects.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
6 years of transportation planning or traffic engineering analysis experience with development and production of deliverables for planning studies
Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Good communication skills (written and oral) with a proven ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to work both in teams and independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Local agency or Caltrans experience
Experience in GIS or database management with data analysis
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning

Potential salary range for this position is $95,000-125,000 depending on location and experience
