What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bridge Engineering Intern position at David Evans & Associates Inc?
DEA is currently seeking a Bridge Engineering Intern for our Salem, OR office to provide engineering support to new and existing bridge engineering projects. This job will primarily consist of assisting professional engineers and project managers in the Bridge Department with a wide range of tasks pertaining to planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance activities both in the office and in the field.
- Assisting engineers, project managers and designers with all aspects of projects; project set-up, drafting, design, project coordination/organization, etc.
- Internal coordination between departments and design teams
- Supporting other groups within the Salem office with design or inspection tasks as necessary
- Assisting with project and team meetings
Basic Qualifications:
- Applicants must be in the pursuit of an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, with at least 2 years of completed course work
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, heavy emphasis on Excel and Word
- Experience with Microstation is favored but not required
- Ability to communicate and work in a team oriented environment
