While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
The Program Assistant for the Foster Family Agency provides a wide range of support services to the Program Director, Social Worker, foster children, and foster parents
Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
- Assist in the recruitment and evaluation of prospective foster parents
- Assist in the orientation and training of foster parents
- Manage Background Process and Maintenance of the Guardian System
- Maintain records of Title 22 requirements for foster parents and ensure that the information is kept on a timely basis
- Participate in the quality assurance process with foster parents
- Documentation of support services, including case notes and evaluation summaries
- Assist with the annual evaluation of foster parents
- Assist with placement referrals and initial placement decisions
- Assist with any required follow-up services and additional communication for all reportable incidents to the appropriate authorities (i.e., CCL, Probation, DCFS, etc.)
- Attend all staff and unit meetings.
- As necessary, accompany state licensing or other county monitors during inspections in the foster home.
- Any other duties as requested
- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
- Two years of college work is preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree in social science from an accredited institution of higher learning is given preference.
