Scope:
At David’s Loft Clinical Programs, we owe our success to people and processes. A Recovery Specialist is a supportive force behind both, and we are currently seeking someone exceptional to take the helm. The ideal candidate will assist individuals with disabilities to gain skills necessary to live, work, and recreate based on the individual’s personal preferences. The Recovery Specialist will work directly with the individual with disabilities to learn coping and daily living skills. The Recovery Specialist will work with employers as well as provide on-site interventions to help supported individuals to adjust to the workplace and the routine of maintaining employment. The Recovery Specialist provides continuous monitoring to the supported individual and job site to assess the needs of the supported individual and job site offering support when needed.

Responsibilities:
- Plan and engage in activities that promote recovery, rehabilitation, and wellness.
- Develop and prepare written assessment of individuals’ adjustment to work and file them in case records;
- Address problems and implement strategies as outlined in the individual treatment plans of program participants.
- Develop, monitor, and implement, treatment planning goals covering all life domains.
- Monitor individuals’ adjustment through direct observation and through meetings with healthcare practitioners, behavioral health clinicians, employers and supervisors, and other treatment and service providers.
- Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary behavioral health team;
- Document contacts, problem areas addressed, and implemented strategies with program participants.
- Ensure compliance with ongoing behavioral and somatic health treatment.
- Assist in securing community and generic resources for program participants and families.
- Monitor supported individual for signs and symptoms of relapsed;
- Assist supported individuals with securing housing and other resources and supports necessary for independence and self-sufficiency;
- Attend case conferences or interdisciplinary team meetings and training; and development workshops; and Document interactions, progress etc. in the individual’s case record;
- Provide vocational counseling and job coaching to individuals; Complete job/task analysis; including developing and implementing job training plans.
- Monitor job placements with a goal of 90 – 180 days retention;
- Visit job and internship sites and meet with individuals with disabilities on-site, as scheduled; including evenings and weekends;
- Provide intensive skills training and employment adjustment counseling at the job site;.
- Document interactions, progress etc. in the individual’s case record;
- Other duties as assigned within scope of role to drive DLCP mission, values and vision.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Associates degree in human services field
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialist required or must be obtain within 90 days of employment (Candidates with this certification will take priority over candidates without this certification.)
- Strong background in social work, behavioral health, addiction counseling, crisis management, crisis intervention, mental health counseling, motivational interviewing, systems, and mentoring
- Working knowledge of sober-living home management practices, models, patterns, and techniques
- Ability to maintain organized records, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and be able to interact appropriately and professionally
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills

Physical Capacity:
Must be able to sit and stand for 20 minutes and lift at least 10 lbs.
