What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Center Consultant position at David Weekley Homes?
David Weekley Homes is currently seeking an enthusiastic, customer service-oriented Design Consultant for our Design Center located in Tempe, Arizona.
The Design Consultant will offer design guidance & product knowledge to our customers as they make the selections to customize their David Weekley Home. This person will also set expectations with home buyers regarding the selection process.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to work a 5 day schedule, with occasional evenings
- Professional Customer Service for customers calling and visiting the Design Center
- Ability to work in roles that vary from answering phones, filing and organizing to interacting with internal and external customers
- Scheduling Appointments with homebuyers
- Entering customer information/selections into computer system
- Maintain design center sampling and signage
- Prepare decorator selection package
- Keep inventory and various lists updated
- Meet vendors to review new product offerings
- Assisting designers/buyers with selections and maintaining supplies
- Coordinate with builder to confirm correct features, options and upgrades.
- Prepare reports
Ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design
- Working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint & Bluebeam
- Prior design related sales and/or design experience with a production homebuilder preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changes
- Great listening skills and creative problem solving with the ability to find the root cause, as well as a solution
- Ability to deal with conflict & set & re-set expectations
- Must be a team-player with an enthusiastic attitude
- Effective communication skills and a sense of urgency
- High level of integrity
- Self-disciplined and organized with excellent follow-up
- Able to multitask
- Good time management skills
