Job Description
David Weekley Homes, a progressive leader in the homebuilding industry and nationally recognized for award-winning designs, is seeking a Conceptual Designer with a passion for residential architecture to join our Design team designing concept sketches of single-family homes in a variety of styles across the country.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design targeted state of the art production homebuilder product
- Managing projects through the process
- Program (product line) analysis
- Competition analysis
- Balancing design vs. cost per foot
- Designing to a targeted price per foot
Qualifications
- 10-15 years designing original residential elevations and floor plans. Some experience working with residential production design is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
- Highly proficient in designing floor plans and elevations utilizing either freehand design or AutoCAD (or similar software program)
- Working knowledge of residential plans and construction drawings
- Licensed Architect or someone who has completed the IDP program and is preparing to sit for the exam is a plus
- An ideal candidate will possess the following essential soft skills: team player, excellent time and project management, problem solving, sense of urgency, creative, detail oriented, and a great deal of flexibility
