Job Description
The purpose of this position is the coaching and development of young men both and off the field. This position will be responsible for coaching a safety position. There may be some special teams duties as assigned. Davidson is a Division I-FCS program that competes in the Pioneer football league. We are looking for a dedicated individual with a passion for coaching and developing young men. We are looking for an individual that can work in a competitive and fast-paced environment and work with the rest of the staff to achieve our goal of winning the Pioneer League Championship.
Job Duties :
Assist on field and in classroom instruction of assigned area (i.e. football) coaching techniques and strategies; evaluate individual performances and provide leadership and instruction in areas of deficiencies as required; serve as a defensive assistant coach.
Supervise the development and implementation of defensive philosophy, including game and practice plans; assist in defensive staff work including scouting and game day operations; assist in the creation of the defensive playbook and installation system.
Participate in comprehensive recruiting activities; coordinate efforts with Admissions Office to establish academic viability for prospects; thoroughly evaluate and recruit all viable prospects in designated geographical area. Ensure compliance by coaching staff, players, and recruits with NCAA, Pioneer Football League, and Davidson College athletics regulations, policies, and overall mission of amateurism.
Counsel team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters; monitor academic and social progress of position and defensive position players; consult with college personnel and faculty for resolution of problems as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree.
At least one year coaching experience in a collegiate football environment.
The job requires a highly motivated individual dedicated to inspiring and leading young student-athletes; an intricate working knowledge of the sport of football.
