What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lake Campus Lifeguard/Facility Staff position at Davidson College?
All staff are required to hold current Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certifications by the first day of work.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
Cannon Pool (Main Campus)
- Attentive supervision of lap swimmers in the water and on the pool deck
- Maintain a clear pool deck
- Enforce all rules posted in pool
- Open and close pool at the beginning and end of shifts
- Respond to emergencies
Lake Campus
- Ensure a safe environment at the beach and swim area of Lake Campus
- Setup/break down equipment and specific facility areas daily including but not limited to: cleaning restrooms, removing trash and recycling, maintaining lifeguard equipment such as a chair, tubes, backboard and first aid supplies, raking beach, and beach games
- Maintain coverage at the gatehouse as needed at front of the facility during Day Camp at the Lake weekdays and for outside groups on weekends
- Enforce all rules posted at Lake Campus
- Respond to emergencies
Required Qualifications:
- Current Lifeguarding and CPR/First Aid/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification
- Ability to work a flexible schedule of approximately 30 hours per week – lifeguards collectively cover 7 days per week
- Available May 31-August 10
